Titanic Giveaway Hop

Well there are lots of tragic disasters and epic love stories to choose from.  I decided to do a giveaway for a little of both.  My readers can choose from the following:

Rise by Anna Carey which is the third book released in the Eve series.  It came out on April 2nd.  If you have not read the first book yet, you can always request it or the second book.

OR

A Pre-Order of The Elite by Kiera Cass.  I thought that the first book was an incredibly epic love story considering the circumstances that America is placed in.  Once again, if you have not read the first book, then you may request that.

As always, my winner may submit a request if there is a book that fits the theme of the hop that they are just dying to have.

I will also be doing my usual $15 Amazon gift card along with the book my winner chooses!

Remember this is an INTERNATIONAl giveaway!  Whoot!

  10. I am not a fan for sad endings... I always want the characters to live happily ever after. However, books seem to move me more than most movies. So, the first time I watched it I cried, but sense then it really hasen't bothered me.

  11. It was sad that Jack drowned but wonderfully romantic that he sacrificed himself for Rose! Thanks for this amazing giveaway - I would love to win!

  12. Sad of course but what he did for her was so beautiful, the kind of things that happen only in books or movies where people forget about their preservation instinct for the loved one... Thanks a lot for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  13. it was heartwrenching but I guess that is what it needed to be, part of me wishes there was a happier ending for jack but that wouldnt have made the movie as good so I guess I like the way it ended

  14. So, so sad, I had a lump in my throat.

    ReplyDelete
  15. So very sad, me and my best friend were crying our eyes out when the kids got home from school "But he died!!!!" We still laugh about it today, but I refuse to ever watch the movie again.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I never wanted to see the movie, but I always thought the real-life story was horribly tragic. So many of the deaths could have been prevented with better planning, and the fact that most of the poorer people in steerage died (while the richer people managed to get lifeboats) is so horribly wrong.

  17. So... I've always had a problem with the end of the movie. It just seems wrong that Rose held on to this love with Jack that she experienced for like 5 min in the scheme of things and married, had kids, and a husband that she didn't reunite with, but instead the Titanic and JACK?!

Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, and thought it was great in other ways, but that always made me kind of sad...

  18. I love it. I cry every damn time!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  28. I agree that it was sad but I still loved it. I cry every time!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Cried buckets. BUT I know that it was essential or it wouldn't have been as epic as it was. So yeah.

    Thanks so much!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have cried about it literally EVERY TIME LOL

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ya know, I've honestly never even made it through all of Titanic.

  40. Thought it was so full of grief and loss.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Personally I wasn't that into the movie. I mean it was good but I wouldn't watch it more than once. With only watching this movie only once I thought the ending was a little too much. I mean it was okay but I just wasn't that into to begin with. Thank you so much for a chance to win and for being a part of this fun and awesome blog hop!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I cried all the tears, all!!! Not only because of Jack, but because of all the people who lost their lives in the tragedy. Sooo sad!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Really, what's to feel about it except sad that it happened and the films about it can't change that fact that over 1200 people lost their lives on that fateful voyage.

    ReplyDelete
  44. They both could have fit on the board!!! I wasn't that sad because I was too outraged

    This picture says it all:http://www.theblaze.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Different-Titanic-Jack-Rose-Configurations.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh geez now I'm just reliving the sadness.......WHY DID JACK HAVE TO DIE?!................and just thinking about the actual Titanic tragedy......just D: ........and the musicians still playing while the ship sank.......

    ReplyDelete
  46. well it fit the movie but i wish that he had lived and that they could have lived happily ever after!

    ReplyDelete
  47. The end, were Rose threw the necklace overboard, makes me laugh every time.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I thought it was pretty depressing, but I loved how Rose threw the necklace into the sea. La Coeur de la Mer suits it perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I remember Rose throwing the necklace into ocean but can't remember if that's the very end. I would have kept the necklace as a memento not chucked it into the ocean. I thought the movie was sad and hated that Jack died and Billy Zane (?name in movie) survived.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I still feel like it was Rose's fault Jack died! But the movie makes me cry every time. I saw it like 8 times in the theater.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I always hated her throwing the necklace into the water--I understand the significance, but I always thought, "why not donate it to a charity auction or a museum?" It just seemed so wasteful! lol

    ReplyDelete
  52. It was well written. But a part of me is still mad at Rose for not figuring out a way to share that door!

    ReplyDelete
  53. It was definitely tragic, but it could've ended in a less heartbreaking way.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Crap. the movie was perfect until the ending, and then it lost me. I think they could have ended it a lot differently, and it wouldn't have taken away from the tragedy that the movie was about. I will forever be pissed at the crap ending.

    ReplyDelete
  55. If we mean the movie, I was alright with it. I actually don't like the film.

    ReplyDelete
  56. This is ALWAYS my reaction: Why do Jack have to die????

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well, the ending sucks! I just hoping they can be together.

    Thanks for this giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The ending was sad. It's too bad that two people who loved each other could not be together.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I actually don't really remember. I wasn't into love stories when my cousin made me watch it but I know she cried, I think I just shrugged at the end of the movie ;) Maybe I should try to watch it again...

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  60. It was tragic, but I loved it! I remember I bawled my eyes out!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I thought it was unbearably sad when I watched it. I cried all the way home from the theatre! I mean, I knew the boat would sink and lives would be lost, but it was heartwrenching to watch her just start to love this man and find herself, only to have it ripped away. (Although, really, she could have shared space on that door...) :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. It was perfect - not a common happily everafter, but it suited the story.

    ReplyDelete
  63. TEARS. That's the ending of Titanic for me! :(

    ReplyDelete
  64. I cried the horrible cry at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  68. It was a sad ending. Jack dying. It was an act of love though. Incredibly sad yet sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Cried my eyes out at the end of the movie and feel awful about how the event itself unraveled. Thanks for the great giveaway! Can't WAIT to read The Elite!

    ReplyDelete
  70. It think it was so sad and yet so breathtakingly beautiful!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I cried like a baby after watching the movie!

    ReplyDelete
  72. It was terrible! They made it, they got off the boat safely together and then he dies! It's a horrible ending! I hate it!

    ReplyDelete
  73. It was sad, it made me wish that it was a true story!

    ReplyDelete
  74. The ending was so tragic!! I remember being sad about it for DAYS. Heck, I'm STILL sad about it.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I was thinking that they could have found a way to share the door and how hard that would have been to let him go into the ocean.

    ReplyDelete
  76. It was heartbreaking

    ReplyDelete
  77. It was sad and hopeful at the same time.
I love the movie Titanic. It's epic and tragic and it's one of my favorites. I actually went and saw that movie in the theater four times one weekend. I was THAT obsessed. As far as epic love stories go, I love 'Outlander' by Diana Gabaldon. The heroine travels through time and meets the man of her dreams. How epic is that! And, he's a higher ranking Jacobite Highlander. Hot.
As far as tragic love stories, I loved the book "Atonement" by Ian McEwan. It's totally tragic that the lovers are separated first by an unfound accusation, a war and finally death. It's so sad but so beautiful how much they did love one another.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  79. I am not sure if you mean the actual Titanic, which of course was terrible although the stories about the band playing on really warm my heart, or the movie, which was not really my thing (not a romance fan in the slightest).

    ReplyDelete
  80. Sad. They COULD have both survived... But I still like the movie.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Although I'm a hopeless romantic who loves happy endings, it was supposed to be a tragic love story. And I'm okay with that.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I loved the ending even though it was so sad.
    Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Obviously it was terrible. For all those people to lose their lives and the ship not to be ready for any of it.

It would be great to win a copy of
Rise by Anna Carey or The Elite by Kiera Cass
and the $15 Amazon gift card.
In response to your question of So about the ending to the Titanic.... how did you feel about it?
I thought it was a very good movie
it was sad at the end
but at least rose had a long life
but i still think she should have gave the necklace to her granddaughter
instead of throwing it in the ocean.
Thank you for having this giveaway!!!!!!

  85. It was a perfect ending to an awesome movie.

    ReplyDelete
  86. It was very emotional.. I cried..

    ReplyDelete
  87. The very-end ending? When she goes back? I love it - always cry. Though I feel really bad for the poor guy Rose married in order to keep her promise to Jack. The poor guy who didn't know his wife already had an epic love with her actual soulmate, you know?
