Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jilly at Breaking The Spine.   It features each blogger's most anticipated books.  This week, my pick is Requiem by Lauren Oliver.

Summary:  Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has been transformed. The nascent rebellion that was under way in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight.

After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancée of the young mayor. Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge.

Any fan of Lauren Oliver knows that "why I can't wait" is a silly question.  And anyone who read Pandemonium knows why I am anxious and dying to get my hands on Requiem.  I'm about to reread the first two books just so I will be ready to experience the last book.  THE LAST BOOK!  I have been waiting over a year for this book so now that I have established silly question...

The thing I am most excited about is that this book is going to be from both Hana and Lena's perspective.  I loved Hana in Delirium and the novella.  I am really excited how that plays out in this new book.

Expected Publication:  March 5, 2013 by HarperTeen

  1. This book was awesome, you'll love it :) Plus the ending totally left it open for Lauren Oliver to continue the story, if she ever wanted to :D

  12. So many books, so little time. I understand that. When I think about all the series I have not gotten to yet, I start to get a little dizzy. It's a bibliophile problem.

  13. I totally get that. I love books, but I am in a NO buying books place right now. I think I only got Delirium because I worked at a used book store which meant DISCOUNT. I got lucky with an ARC for Pandemonium.
