Summary: Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined. My Favorite Line:
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.
But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.
"As cities grow and technology takes over the world belief and imagination fade away and so do we."
Well it’s either that or “I am a cat.”
Why I Loved It: I’ll admit it. This was the first YA book I had read about fairies. This was one of the books that was put in my hands by that oh so crazy best friend of mine, and I had no idea what I was expecting. But I truly loved it. For one, the cover was incredible. Harlequin did a great job on the covers for the books in the series. The characters were just so likable. I adore sarcasm in books, and this book had enough to please me. I have no chosen between Team Puck and Team Ash yet. Between you and me though, I think I’m leaning towards Team Ash. You gotta love a bad boy. My favorite part of the book though wasn’t the incredible imagery, the wild creatures, or even fairy royalty. My favorite part was Grimalkin the cat. He just made me giggle with his obnoxious know-it-all attitude!
P.S. Thanks to Lindsi (Books, Sweets, and Other Treats) for all her HTML help today! I love that girl SO much!
I really really need to start this series! It looks so good, and I've heard such good things about it, but I keep putting it off for some reason.
