Inspired Fridays: My Sister/Bestie

So this week, what inspires me?  My sister.  My beautiful sister is graduating high school in less than a month! *EEEEK*  It seems like yesterday she was rolling around in all her chub and picking her nose for the camera.  Well gone are those days.  My darling sister asked me to do her senior pictures, and so I did.  And I will share some of them with you.  

Yep.  Thankfully my baby sister and bestie is also a reader.  She's who I give books to so that I have someone nearby to rant to about fictional *but really when do they really feel fictional?* characters.  And unfortunately that's how she reads books.  My copy of Gatsby is well worn, let me tell ya!

Ok so tomorrow would have been Audrey Hepburn's birthday.  Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a bit of a fan... my room definitely says I am.  So I'm celebrating her birthday, and I chose a crafty thing that kind of goes along with it.  I have an old calendar so I totally could do this... I just need more room to put it up...

Amazingly enough, those pictures are from an old calendar.  It's basically mod podge on a piece of canvas.  Seriously, the canvas is the most expensive part!  It's seems pretty awesome.  If you want some step-by-step instructions and the deets, just go here.

Since Sunday is Easter, I figured I would throw in something that I plan on doing this weekend.  Dying eggs.  But I get tired of doing the same old plain colors.  I want some creative kick for my eggs.  After all, no one wants them to be boiled for nothing!  So here is my idea for this week:

Mustache Eggs.  I'm not normally into the 'stache but I have to say these eggs are pretty adorable.  I have a friend who just eat them up!  So if you too are interested in making some awesome 'stache eggs, just go on over to here and get the info!

I LOVE black and white decor.  If this was my own project, some pink would probably be splashed on there.  Or red.  Oooo red.  Anyways, this seems simply enough, though I still don't have the art skills to accomplish it.  The whole project is done using newspaper and shoe boxes, with black paint I assume.

Technically I cheated this week because I actually found this on Tumblr.  *I did pin it on Pinterest though* I adore this kind of idea though inside I keep thinking about how the standing water is a breeding ground for mosquitos and the greenery for bugs.  But the idea is still marvelous.  Especially the stress free zone idea.  Totally true for my bed.

Sadly, I have no idea who the source is for this.

I saw this a while back and I LOVE it.  I am seriously thinking about getting this together for some birthday presents for my bookish friends who also have a thing for caffeine.  It seems pretty simple, and I know I would love to have a mug with one of my favorite book quotes.
